Speech Rubric

A rubric is a scoring guid composed of set criteria used to evoluate a students peformance product and or project.

1.) Excellant=5pts

2.) Good=4pts

3.) Satisfactory=3pts

4.) Needs Improvement=2pts

5.) Unsatisfactory=1pt

Aspect

1.) Introduction: Gains the attention of the audience. Clearley identifies the topic.
2.) Preparation: Completely prepared, has obviously rehearsed the speech.
3.) Enthusiasm: Facial expresion and body language convey strong enthusiasm and interest.
4.) Eye Contact: Eye contact with audience virtually all the time (exept for brief glances at notes).
5.) Use of Language: Use of language contributes to effectiveness of speech, and vocalized pauses (um, uh, er) not distracting.
6.) Confidence: Speaks neither too quickly nor too slow.
7.) Clarity: Speaks clearly and distinctly all the time, no mispronounced words.
8.) Topic: Well focused, creative and appropriate.
9.) Attire; Shirts neatly tucked in skirt and/or pants. No distracting jewelry or accesories.
10.) Cues: Cues the audience that end of the speech is at hand. brings closure. Memorable.

Changing the background

1. Choose format--> page, & then click on the background tab.


2. In the fill area, and do one of the following:
* Select color, and then click a color in the list
* Select gradient, and then click a gradient style inthe list.

3. Click okay

To use an image for the slide background.

1. Choose Format --> page and then click on the background tab.

2. In the fill area, select bitmap & then click an image in the list.

3. Click okay


Inserting Pictures

1. Choose insert --> picture

2. Locate the picture

3. Click open

Technology

Is technology making mankind lazy?

Technology is making mankind lazy. I know this because we as the people act like with out computes, cellphones, ipods, gameboys, and etc that we can't do anything. In some cases we may need it but people before us didn't have an way shape or form had technology in their life and they surved. Afterall what will we do without technology.

I think we should not abuse the technology that we are blessed with. For instance we act like we can not go a day without the use of computers to check our e-mails. Furthermore I think technology is going to take over the whole human population. clearly we as people would not be able to survive back in the day because we're so stuck on stupid over technology.

Why are web pages that use a combination of text, images and sound more interesting than those that just use text?

Web pages that use a combination of text, images and sound are more interesting than those that just use text because it get's boring and tiring looking at a bunch of letters.Another reason is because people would look at the web page and go to another, so in otherwords there will be less viewers for that web page.

PRESENTATIONS are sequence of slides, also called pages or screen, that usually incorporate text, graphics and animations. The term presentation here refers to a specific kind of multimedia production, a digital slide show presentation. Presentations are generally have limited amounts of text, often written as lists with bullets or symbals in front each point. By animating the text, the information can be viewed one point at a time, with the text moving onto the screen in a variety of ways.

TUTORIALSare popular forms of computer-based instruction that teach skills orprocedures. Tutorials can be used for educational or training purposes. Tutorials genrally use all elements of multimedia- text, graphics, sound and video.

SIMMULATIONS are computer-based models of real life situations. They are often usd when the "real thing" is dangerous or requires access to locations or materials that are not easilly accessible to the user.
Simmulations are usally interactive. it allows a users choice to affect the outcome of the experiance.

Multimedia is a combination of still and moving images, text and sounds by means of computer technology.

Multimedia is frequently used on the internet.

Internet is a network of computers all over the world that are connect to each other.

A web page is a location on the internet.

Words- pretty much all multimdia projects include words the words can be written, spoken or sung. Multimedia projects do not always include sound, but generally do include written text. The text might be in forms of paragraphs or it might glide across the display screen.

Images- Multimedia pojects nearly always include images.

Some image that might appear in a project are: drawings charts, diagrams, painting, photographs, buttons and arrows.

Animation is motion of a graphic or text.

Sound- In multimedia live or recorded sound is referred as a video. Audio in multimedia can take the form of speech, such as voice-over narration.

Video consists of live or recorded moving images and is found in many multimedia projects.

my weekend

I feel rejuvenated, happy, and ready for Summer to start again.

Maybe I'm not ready for Summer to start but I'm not sure yet.

In addition to those things I'm happy to see my friends.

In fact I was excited to come back to school.
